Component Funds through the Montrose Community Foundation support the passions of many different groups who have united for a common cause. These groups partner with the Montrose Community Foundation to receive fiscal sponsorship and an ability to receive donations through a charitable designation through the Foundation’s 501(c)3 status.

To determine if a charitable partnership may exist, please review the Foundation’s fiscal sponsorship guidelines and complete the fiscal sponsorship application. Applications will be reviewed by the Foundation Board at regular board meetings.

The Montrose Community Foundation proudly supports the following organizations in the areas of arts, recreation, education, health and wellness, history, and basic needs who serve the community.  Read more:

Montrose Tennis Association
The Montrose Tennis Association was established in June 2002 to advocate for tennis court improvements and provide tennis activities for the community. As part of our efforts to develop tennis participation, MTA annually offers free tennis during Youth Appreciation Day and tournaments for juniors following the MRD tennis lessons. Through many tennis tournament fundraisers, the MTA has obtained the wind screens that are on the tennis courts at the Aquatic Center. They are now looking into providing shade structures at those courts.

“ None of these programs would be possible without the commitment and efforts of the many MTA members who volunteer their time from stuffing envelopes to helping at tournaments. Of course, our partnership with MCF has been invaluable in our fundraising efforts and is greatly appreciated.” –Jerilyn Sheldon, MTA

Recreation District Grants

Through this fund, area youth receive grants to offset the fees associated with programs through the Montrose Recreation District.  Nearly $1200 was awarded last year to allow needy youth to participate in a host of recreational opportunities.

pax_logoPublic Art Experience (PAX)
The goal of the PAX organization is to create new chances for people to come together as a community and have new opportunities to enjoy direct engagement with quality works of art. Through a revolving sculpture loan program, all of us have the opportunity to experience quality works of art in our own community. Visit www.montrosechamber.com/pax.

Shoes for Kids
rotary-shoes_1The Montrose Rotary Club established a component fund with the Foundation to support the Shoes for Kids Program.  Through this program needy families in the community meet a Rotarian at the Montrose Payless Shoe Store to select two pairs of shoes and a package of socks twice a year.  In February, 52 families with 93 children received shoes and socks.
