Trumbo Memorial Scholarship
Phil Trumbo was a businessman and resident of Montrose for forty-two years, owning and operating the Best Western Red Arrow for most of those years. Phil graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in chemical engineering, where he excelled scholastically and was inducted into two honorary fraternities. His fine mind, unique character, integrity, hard work and generosity, along with a lifetime of learning, led him to experience a full and productive life with many varied opportunities.
This scholarship was established in 2008 by Phil’s family to encourage a deserving student who values education and has a commitment to succeed in a career in math or engineering, and most importantly, in life.
