Announcement of Grant Recipients:  Week of December 13

The recipients of the 2010 Competitive Grant Cycle will be announced the week of December 13.  The Montrose Community Foundation has supported the local community with grants for more than twenty years.

Strategic Planning Q&A on December 1

Answers to your questions on strategic planning will be provided on Wednesday, December 1 from 12:00-1:30 at the Montrose Library Meeting Room.  This capacity session for nonprofit organizations is being provided free of charge by the Foundation and the Montrose Library.

Winter Nonprofit Before Hours Schedule

Join others interested or involved in the Nonprofit Community this summer for monthly gatherings.  Meet others, share information and announcements, and brainstorm ways to collaborate to better serve our community.   There is a $5 suggested donation to cover the light breakfast provided by the hosting organization.  The winter schedule is posted below.  Please contact the Foundation if your organization would like to host one of the following dates:

Tuesday, February 15  from 7:00-9:00 a.m. (Location TBD)

Baldridge Dinner:  October 12

Following tradition, the Montrose Community Foundation will celebrate the accomplishments of the last year and recognize donors at the annual Baldridge Dinner on October 12 at the Holiday Inn.  In addition, the Community Service Award Winner for the year will be announced.  For more information on this event, call 901-6575.

“Help for Hard Times” returns on January 21

Due to the positive feedback from the first Community Resource Fair held in May, the Foundation is partnering with other local organizations to again offer “Help for Hard Times” on Friday, January 21 from 9:00-4:00 at the Montrose Pavilion.  Connect with organizations providing valuable basic human needs services, attend relevant workshops on coping strategies during this tough economic times, and complete a community needs survey and be entered in drawings for great prizes.

Montrose Police Officer’s Ball scheduled for July 15

“A Blue Tie Affair” returns to the Montrose Pavilion on Friday, July 15.  This will be the second year for this wonderful, formal event that includes dinner, dancing, and items available for live and silent auction.  Proceeds benefit the Montrose Police Officer’s Charitable Fund that provides needed training and equipment for our local men and women in blue.
